ndependent testing institutes, monitoring and certification bodies ensure the proper manufacture of construction products as well as their competent execution. As a rule, accreditation by a national accreditation body is required before taking up the activity as a testing and certification body. This guarantees the proper expertise and independence of the body. On the basis of this accreditation, the competent authority then proceeds with notification or recognition, which officially authorises the body to perform tasks regulated by law.
